Oats in a jar

I have the day off from work since we aren’t that busy.  I scheduled a Dr’s appointment so I wouldn’t take any time from work.  I got my thyroid checked last Friday from the recommendation of my dermatologist and am waiting for the bloodwork results.

Today, I am going to get an ultrasound of my thyroid.  Weird!  I googled it and it is just like an ultrasound for pregnant women except your neck is extended for a long period of time.

I also plan on going to Target 😉

Currently I am listening to Pandora online radio and eating this:

Oats in a Jar:

1/3 cup Country Choice Old Fashioned Oats

2/3 cup water

5 semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 almost empty jar of Blue Diamond Crunchy Almond Butter

It was so good.  I scraped out everything I could.  Now I’m off to shower and get ready.  My appointment is at 12:45, but I have to show up to do new patient paper work.  Then it’s off to Target 🙂

Weekend Recap

This weekend has gone by way way too fast. Per usual.  The work week is sooooooooooo long and then the weekend goes by like lightening.

Here is Friday’s nights recap.  Went to Chilis and got the 3 for 20 deal.  All of the pictures were blurry. We got skillet queso, I got the big mouth bites (ate 2 out of four) and the molten chocolate cake (heaven!).

Saturday we went to Cracker Barrel and I got the Oatmeal meal with bananas, two slices of wheat toast with no sugar grape jelly.  It was so good.

I got hungry right around 2:00.  We went to the Parade of Homes at noon and saw some of the most fancy/expensive homes.  I love our home and some of the same features we had built in were in the Parade homes.  Maybe our home could be on the list one day-wishful thinking right?

I ate a bowl of organic Whole Foods cereal and a banana and a couple sips of this Vitamin Water.

My friend Shelby and I then went to two consignment stores that her coworkers had told her about.  One was called “Pass it On” and all of their proceeds went to a local women’s shelter which made me want to shop there even more.  I bought two sweaters.  We then went to another consignment store called “My Girlfriend’s Closet,” which was a cute little house with different rooms full of clothes.  I bought a pair of American Eagle jeans and a shirt.  I spend about $32 dollars for the whole trip.  Pretty exciting!

We came home to Shelby’s husband James, my hubby, and his parents watching the football game.  The husband and I went to Mellow Mushroom for dinner.  They have hands down the BEST pizza ever.  The crust alone is amazing.  We started with our old faithful Bud Lights (one each) and a half order of the parmesean pretzels. We ordered a medium pepperoni pizza.  So good.  Worth every calorie.  We don’t get this much since it’s a little far away, but it is worth the drive.

This morning I bought some bread and bananas at Harris Teeter and stopped by McDonald’s for lunch.  This time they got my Southwest Salad correct! I only used half of the dressing.  I had to repeat my order 3 TIMES!!!! ugh!!!

I am not sure what we are doing later on.  I have every intention on taking a nap.  See you later!

Need more sleep?

I hate when I sleep too long.  I’m sure I need it, but the longer I sleep, the more tired I feel when I wake up.  I feel like a truck has hit me.  I don’t have to be at work until one so I slept until about 9.

On the menu this morning was Cinnamon Pumpkin Oats!

DSC_0156That’s 1/3 cup of oats, 1/3 cup (maybe a little less) of Libby’s Canned Pumpkin (not the pie filling) and a small handful of TJ’s country pumpkin granola and a half sheet of cinnamon graham cracker crumbled.  It was delicious!

I am going to lounge around a bit more and then get ready for work/eat lunch. See ya in a bit!

Shhh…I need quiet

This morning the cat would not stop bothering us. She was purring too much so we kicked her out and then she pawed at the door forever. She loves to play in the morning and I wanted to sleep in. I finally just got up. Then the husband decided to play the “Party Favorites” channel on our tv. So it’s loud music like Chaka Khan and Bob Marley. Cat + husband = migraine!!
This morning oatmeal was on the agenda.
The mix was steel cut oats and old fashioned oats, a splash of soy milk and too much water. I made these a little too runny and was not a fan. I basically ate the layer with toppings, bananas and a sprinkled oatmeal cookie!

Today we are having going to a birthday party (this man at our church is turning 80) and then going to the State Game. I am nervous about the game because it is supposed to be rainy all night.
We have ponchos, but getting wet jeans off is an act of Congress. I am off to finish getting ready and take some Advil for my headache. Have a good (and dry) Saturday!
