Extra hour

I love getting extra hours in a day. Especially on a Sunday.  Anything to hold off going to work 🙂

Last night we had about 40 trick or treaters.  They came in big groups and I stopped counting at 28.  It was a lot of fun.  I love seeing cute little kids in costumes.  Most of the boys were just “dead” things with fake blood and then the majority of the girls were princesses.  There was one girl who I think was Britney Spears?  I’m not sure, but she was too young to have such tall wedges.

Anywho last night ended with us watching a little bit of  Trick or Treat.  We have neighbors who have this evil pumpkin boy thing in their front yard and they kept moving it different places every day for a week.  It kind of freaked us out and then we say the evil pumpkin boy thing in Blockbuster.  He is from Trick or Treat which is the cheesiest “scary” movie eva.

We stopped the movie just as a bunch of girl unzipped their skin and turned into werewolves. Yeah, pretty lame.  The husband and I like scarier movies and I’m a suspense kind of girl.

Fall 2009 001

I wore these yesterday in celebration.

Fall 2009 002

Super comfy.  I have some for Christmas as well 🙂

I also made some pumpkin pancakes this morning.  A little thicker this time 🙂

Fall 2009 003

Today is so rainy/yucky outside.  I am going to get out of the house and go to the grocery store.  Everytime I want to go to the Farmer’s Market, it rains so that might not be in the plans today.  Hope your morning is going well!

Happy Halloween everyone!   With today being  Halloween and my love for everything pumpkin, I decided to make a pumpkin smoothie.

The recipe:

1 1/4 cup unsweetened TJ’s soymilk

1/4 cup organic canned pumpkin (do not use pumpkin pie filling)

1 container (6oz) of Stonyfield Pumpkin Pie yogurt

(I had one left and I figured it would taste better mixed with other things)

1 tablespoon agave nectar

1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

a splash (maybe a tablespoon?) of fat free vanilla coffee creamer

4-5 icecubes

It is very very pumpkin-y.  Which I love.  The husband wasn’t a fan, but that is just because  he is jealous of pumpkin and I’s relationship 😉

Pumpkin Patch

The husband and I decided to pick out some pumpkins for our front porch.  We headed to a local pumpkin patch and took some pictures.

It was really cold, but so much fun.  We are all about buying local here and those pumpkins were only $4 a piece. Awesome!

Pumpkin Fest

Y’all know that pumpkin (just like pizza) and I have a relationship.  It’s been going on for a while now and just keeps getting better and better.  This morning I decided on pumpkin pancakes.  I saw the mix at TJ’s a few weeks ago and had to pick up a box.

The mix made about 8 (and a little one) pancakes.  It was delicious.  I love how people can get the perfect amount of spices.  I am NOT a big fan of nutmeg and this had the perfect amount.

Last night I also had a pumpkin cupcake from HT.  I was only happy with the icing.  I let the husband eat the “cake” part.  I was dissapointed in how bland the pumpkin flavor was, but the cream cheese icing was so good!

Today I hope to go to the Pumpkin Patch and pick out some pumpkins and maybe some mums to put outside.  Then I might make some pumpkin bread and make my halloween treats for next weekend.

Friday funday

I got my hair colored all over today, not just halo highlights like the usual.  It is darker for the fall and I love it.  I went to Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s and got some good deals.  They have this coupon flyer called “The Whole Deal” and it has lots of good coupons in it.  I have fun new things to try! I really stuck to the coupons, because Whole Foods can get pricey if you don’t watch it.

We went to Kanki Japanese Steakhouse where they had a steak special for $9.99 and its usually at least $16.  It was delicious.  We then walked around the mall a bit and went to Barnes and Noble. I didn’t have my eye on anything, but the husband got the new Dan Brown book.  We both got something from Starbucks.  I got a skinny pumpkin spice latte meaning fat free milk and no whipped topping.  I didn’t even miss it.  Why not cut calories where you can?  I need to do this more!!

The loot from Whole Foods.

This is a cute funny from last Sunday’s paper that is staying on my fridge.  Something to keep in mind when going for something to eat!

Zoey decided to sit by the tub while I put up laundry.  She is just too cute!

I made some peanut butter cookies.  I substituted white wheat flour for regular while, light butter for regular, organic brown sugar for dark brown sugar…

They are delicious!  Here is the original recipe that I modified: http://find.myrecipes.com/recipes/recipefinder.dyn?action=displayRecipe&recipe_id=1924647

I got impatient for dinner so I didn’t let them cool enough and a few cracked. Oh well, still delicious!

Before: I just woke up, sorry the pic is a little blurry!DSC_0117DSC_0135

This is after.  I was hot and put my hair up.  It is definately darker, but I really like it!  I am off to watch tv/fall asleep while doing so.

Tomorrow is supposed to rain during the football game.  I really do not want to do anything tomorrow, but sleep.  Oh well, I’ll make it.

Excited to try new food items! Have a good night!
